1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using chuk.chat (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

chuk.chat is an AI-powered chat application that allows you to interact with open-weight AI models. The Service provides:

• Access to multiple open-weight AI language models (e.g., Llama, Mistral, Qwen, DeepSeek)
• End-to-end encrypted chat storage
• Cross-platform synchronization
• File attachment and image handling capabilities
• Voice and video communication modes (coming soon)

Note: We only support open-weight models. Closed/proprietary models like Claude, GPT-4, and Gemini are not available on chuk.chat.

3. User Accounts and Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Transmit content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users’ accounts
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Generate content that violates our AI providers’ terms

Note: OpenRouter and open-weight model providers have their own content policies. Violations may result in termination of your account.

5. Third-Party Services

chuk.chat relies on third-party services to provide its functionality. By using chuk.chat, you also agree to comply with the terms of:

• OpenRouter: AI model routing. Terms
• Groq: Speech-to-text. Terms
• Inworld: Text-to-speech. Terms
• Supabase: Database. Terms
• Stripe: Payments. Terms
• Hetzner: Server hosting. Terms

6. Subscription and Payments

Some features of the Service may require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to:

• Pay all applicable fees as described in our pricing page
• Provide accurate payment information
• Understand that subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
• Cancel your subscription through the in-app settings or website

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by chuk.chat and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Content you create using the Service remains yours. However, AI-generated responses are created by third-party AI models and may not be protected by copyright in all jurisdictions.

8. Data Privacy and Security

Your privacy is important to us. Chat messages are encrypted end-to-end before being stored. Account information (email, username) is stored in standard database format (not encrypted). Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information.

9. AI Model Limitations

The AI models accessible through the Service have limitations and may:

• Generate inaccurate or misleading information
• Produce biased or inappropriate content
• Fail to understand context or nuance in certain situations

You should verify important information from authoritative sources.

10. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. We may suspend or terminate the Service for maintenance, updates, or other reasons without prior notice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, chuk.chat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

You may terminate your account at any time through the account settings or by contacting support.

13. Online Dispute Resolution

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR): https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/ Our email address can be found in our legal notice (Impressum). We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). For consumers within the EU, mandatory consumer protection laws of their country of residence apply in addition.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
